Cost-Share Assistance for Urban Stormwater Practices

Stormwater runoff from driveways, rooftops, and streets can carry sediment, nutrients, oil, and other pollutants into nearby lakes, rivers, and wetlands. Even in smaller communities, these hard surfaces can contribute to erosion, flooding, and water quality issues downstream.

Kanabec SWCD offers cost-share assistance for stormwater management practices that help slow, filter, and absorb runoff where it falls — protecting local waterways and reducing infrastructure strain.

Eligible projects may include:

  • Rain gardens
  • Infiltration basins or trenches
  • Curb-cut rainwater redirection
  • Stormwater retrofits on existing infrastructure

These practices are especially encouraged in areas near lakes, streams, and sensitive shorelands.
