Ann Lake Erosion Control and Gully Restoration

A riprap drainage outlet with rocks for erosion control, leading from a fabric-covered slope.

Using a Clean Water Fund grant, Kanabec SWCD repaired a gully that had formed on an intermittent waterway that enters Ann Lake. Instead of flowing over land, the concentrated flow now enters an intake pipe to carry the water to a lower wetland to slow it down before entering the lake. With the pipe in place, the slope was reshaped and reseeded. The project protects water quality by preventing sediment and nutrients from entering Ann Lake.
